MR. CHARLES LEVER
Director MEP
Charles Lever, Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers, is the Director of MEP at Drake & Scull International PJSC (DSI).
Prior to joining DSI, Charles' positions have included head of Rotary International across the Middle East and Director of Building Services and Strategic Alliances with Taylor Woodrow Construction. Charles was the prime mover in delivering Taylor Woodrow's industry acclaimed Building Services Strategic Alliance Partnering initiative who delivered significant business improvement to this major international blue chip company.
In 2004 Charles won the prestigious Building Services Journal award for ‘Engineers taking the lead'.
In his current position at DSI, Charles has full responsibility for providing proactive leadership to all areas of the business from finance to HR. His role encompasses the development and implementation of effective business strategies to ensure the successful delivery of DSI's MEP services across the MENA region. Charles is also responsible for making sure that all operational activities including Tender Approval, Financial Reporting standards and Quality Assurance, are conducted in accordance with DSI policies, standards and procedures.
Charles says it was the vision for growth and expansion that initially attracted him to DSI, along with the opportunity to work with a team highly motivated to provide the best MEP quality installations and design internationally. Charles' personal goals for DSI include developing closer working relationships with clients, delivering services as per their expectations of quality, health and safety, and cost.
From 2003 to 2006 Charles was Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers, which he identifies as one of the highlights of his career. Being in this position enabled Charles to bring together people from the industry to look at collaborating to improve the industry as a whole. Charles is now a qualified interviewer for UAE applicants intending to become members of the Institute of Building Service Engineers.
In a recent edition of the Modern Building Services magazine Charles was described as ‘one of the industry's leading strategic thinkers and doers'.
In his spare time Charles likes to play golf and he is currently learning to sail.
